Are benefits which an injured employee is entitled to after their recovery from work related injuries to a scheduled member. Scheduled members are different parts of a person’s body which are injured whether they be a thumb, shoulder, knee, etc. Each scheduled member has listed amounts which apply to either the loss of or the complete or permanent loss of use of said scheduled member. For instance, a hand is worth 205 weeks of PPD. If a person lost their hand, they would receive 205 weeks of PPD benefits. If a person sustained a 20 percent permanent partial disability to their hand, they would receive 41 weeks of permanency benefits or 20 percent of 205 weeks. An injured employee’s permanency rate is affixed at 60 percent of their average weekly wage with a maximum statutory limit. Accordingly, if a hypothetical injured employee suffered a 20 percent disability to their hand and their average weekly wage was $750.00, that person would be entitled to a permanent partial disability award or settlement of $18,450.00 (20 percent of 205 weeks or 41 weeks of permanency times 60 percent of $750.00 or $450.00).
